Returning this year, the Arctic Cat Alterra 450 is built for pilots wanting new features and premium designs all in a great value package. Coming from the joint venture with Kymco, it is a smaller machine than the Alterra 600 in many ways: smaller suspension travel, no power steering, and a 4WD system without front differential locking make this model much more affordable.
It has a towing capacity of 476.2 kg (1,050 lb) and a 5.04 cm (2 in) rear receiver hitch. There is a selectable 2WD / 4WD electronic system, but no electric locking of the front differential, and basic tires providing a lower driving position.
The smooth and vigorous 443cc 4-stroke 4-valve SOHC single-cylinder engine powering this ATV is liquid-cooled and equipped with an auxiliary fan for consistent performance under demanding conditions. It features a closed-loop EFI system with exhaust catalyst for quick throttle response and maximum fuel economy.
