There are some memorable evenings we have been privileged to attend annually. Among them is the long-awaited presentation of the CKX clothing collection and exclusive gear that will soon be part of our magazines and web-series episodes in the next couple months.
The latest CKX launch was made on February 26 in Drummondville, Quebec, in a CentrExpo exhibition and congress center full of guests. Both the media assigned to off-road vehicles and officials assigned by dealers were present. It must be remembered, however, that this popular event is only under invitation and that just a few chosen and passionate from the general public have the ultimate opportunity to attend by means of a contest on social networks.
It all started at 8:30 pm and the guests were able to watch a show that amazed everyone. This year, the animation was masterfully completed by Bertrand Godin to reveal to retailers, ambassadors and winter sports enthusiasts the exclusivities offered by CKX. Everyone was thrilled by the new products and new color schemes that will appear in the new winter season catalog.
The theme of the evening was : Experiment Winter. This very simple concept highlights the reality of our harsh winters and the perspective that nothing should stop us to make the ride of our life. We have to adapt to changing weather conditions and to achieve this, we need to be equipped with the best possible clothing.
In this presentation, the launching video shed light on the themes underlying the development of the entire 2020 collection: protection against external elements and evacuation of humidity. CKX stands out with its bold style, but also with a high level of performance and unparalleled comfort.
Among the new features include the new 3 in 1 coat lines: the Beyond for men and Reach for women will make you discover the ultimate comfort of multilayer clothing that adapts to the rhythm of your rides. These coats offer both warmth and breathability by combining a shell and a removable liner. They are adaptable according to the activity. Off-road enthusiasts will love the opportunity to remove the insulating liner, while trail lovers will appreciate the insulated suit and liner for comfortable warmth and an effective barrier against coldness.
Master and Cozy coats will satisfy the unconditional trail riders. These are coats that will let you practice your winter activities under any circumstances. Boasting the highest amount of insulation among the CKX coats line-up, they are designed to withstand the arctic cold and they will provide you with unparalleled comfort.
Off-road enthusiasts who prefer lighter insulation and evolve in more temperate climates will appreciate the one-piece suits presented by CKX. The Elevation monosuit for men is available in 5 color schemes and they are offered with a 60g insulation or not insulated. On the women’s side, the Peak monosuit will allow the ATV rider or snowmobiler to go straight into the fresh powder snow with its 60g insulation and it is available in 3 color schemes. Children also benefit from their own version with the Bro and Girlz line-up to let them follow the adults in their winter activities.
Constantly listening to their consumers and ambassadors, CKX now offers insulated shorts. Providing additional insulation, these shorts will be highly appreciated and can be worn alone or in combination with a base coat.
CKX presents not only new clothing, but also makes the introduction of new materials that will compose them, and each of them has a specific role in order to produce clothing of unmatched quality in the motorized recreational industry.
Hilltex:
This membrane covers the outside of the garment and provides resistance to water and wind while allowing breathability. It is a highly functional material consisting of a specific laminated membrane and a blend of types of fabrics such as polyamide or polyester. It is a state-of-the-art, future-oriented material that prevents moisture penetration from the outside, but allows perspiration and body moisture to be vented outside while maintaining appropriate body temperature.
Vivo:
It is an insulation material that has a series of small openings within. Each of these holes represents a space to trap air. They also create paths of lower resistance, allowing body moisture to escape quickly. During intense physical activity, moisture is easily moved away through these openings. In return, during periods of inactivity, the openings trap the body hot air. This is how Vivo insulation improves breathability without reducing thermal performance.
The Titan helmet, which no longer needs a presentation, is now offered in additional models and new colors: the Climb and the Steep are added to the existing line-up.

This evening of presentation was also the beginning of 2 successive days where we were invited to seminars and to an exhibitor’s fair. This event is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the suppliers that are featured in the huge Kimpex catalog. This distributor, based in Drummondville, Québec, offers more than 88,000 products for motor sports enthusiasts. This show allows us to ask a multitude of questions to the product representatives and is perfect to be in touch with new products that will soon be tested by us.
This biannual show is a very important event that we do not want to miss. These 3 days are an opportunity to meet a wide range of people from the industry and to discuss about it. It’s also a great opportunity for us to stock up on ideas that will fill these pages in the next coming months.
While waiting for the next invitation from CKX, we left Drummondville with a cheerful heart and a smile on the lips. We are obviously aware of our chance to know these novelties with a head start, but also aware of our role to send you our impressions as objectively as possible.
