The CFORCE 800 and CFORCE 1000 are the fourth generation of ATVs that have been completely overhauled, both in terms of bodywork and mechanics, but which retain the strong points of their predecessor. The quad is offered as standard in a two-seater configuration and is powered by either an 800 cm3 or 1000 cm3 V-twin engine. The equipment is abundant and there is little missing to make the buyer happy.
The engines are similar to the older generation, but have been revised for the job. The CFORCE 800 is equipped with an 800 cm3 V-engine that offers 70 HP and 51 lb*ft of torque. As for the CFORCE 1000, it is powered by a 963 cm3 V-engine that develops 84 horsepower and 62 lb*ft of torque. It therefore has no difficulty in moving this quad with authority. The transmission is an automatic CVT now developed by CFMOTO. This new transmission offers a more prompt response to the accelerator than the previous model. The powertrain is coupled to a four-wheel drive system with a front differential that can be locked on demand from the handlebars.
The new CFORCE 800 and 1000 do not introduce a completely new suspension geometry. However, the old architecture with wishbones at the front and swing arm at the rear performs well. These suspensions provide 9“ of travel at the front and rear and 11†of ground clearance. This is satisfactory, but we note that the competition offers more and we would have hoped for more travel. However, the standard gas shocks are equipped with an external auxiliary reservoir for more performance. They are fully adjustable for preload, rebound and descent. This is rare equipment among competitors at this price point, and it provides very appreciable ride comfort.
As for the bodywork, the relationship with the latest generation of CFORCE 400, 500 and 600 is immediately apparent. However, several distinctive features and an even more “premium†appearance stand out. Especially for the CFORCE 1000’s light signature that runs across the grille from edge to edge. Just like at the rear too. This is the main visual aspect that separates the CFORCE 800 and the 1000. Note the excellent finish quality, which is always improving. Everything fits together perfectly and the attention to detail is meticulous. The instrumentation consists of a 7†TFT color display well positioned at the front. The handlebar controls allow you to navigate the screen efficiently. In addition, CFMOTO has taken charge of managing unwanted engine heat for the rider by installing new side panels that “seal†the engine compartment. This also helps to reduce unwanted noise.
The CFORCE 800 Touring and CFORCE 1000 Touring come standard with the following equipment: tri-mode power steering, 14-inch aluminum wheels with 26-inch tires, adjustable gas shock absorber, rear storage box, two-inch hitch receiver, hand guard, 3500 lb winch, fender extensions, turn signals, horn, mirrors, 12V and USB sockets, and metallic paint. Note the transverse LED light signature exclusive to the CFORCE 1000.
The Overland version is fully equipped for exploring the territory: custom-molded 110-liter waterproof rear trunk, protective plates under the vehicle, front and rear bumpers, windshield, aluminum wheels with rims, LED light bar.
WHAT’S NEW?
New models for 2025
We like:
- Revamped engines that deliver very good performance (1000: 84 HP and 800: 70 HP), with three driving modes to use this power efficiently.
- Fully adjustable suspension that can offer great comfort or firmness for sporty driving.
- Updated styling with even better quality of finish.
- High towing capacity of 800 kg (1764 lb).
We like less:
- The turning radius, which is too large to the point of being a problem for turning around on trails.
- An overall weight of more than 1000 lb for the vehicle, which becomes very significant for an ATV.
