At its annual gathering with its dealer network, CFMOTO Canada unveiled its new models for 2027. On the ATV side, the spotlight is on a new generation of CFORCE machines, with four models leading the charge: the CFORCE C4, C5, C6 PRO and C6 PRO TOURING.
This time, it’s not simply about new colors or a few added features. CFMOTO has made meaningful changes to its lineup, with new powertrains, redesigned chassis and a stronger focus on technology.
The C4 and C5 renew CFMOTO’s more accessible offerings, while the C6 PRO models represent a more substantial evolution in the mid-size category. Here are the highlights that caught our attention.
CFORCE C4 and C5: Completely Redesigned
The CFORCE C4 and C5 have been completely redesigned for 2027. Their mission, however, remains familiar: to offer versatile ATVs equally suited to everyday work and recreational riding.
The C4 is powered by a 409cc engine, while the C5 gets a 499cc powerplant. The latter should naturally appeal to riders looking for a little more response while remaining in an accessible category.
CFMOTO has also given both models an interesting level of standard equipment. Full LED lighting includes integrated turn signals and a reverse light, while a 2,500-lb winch comes standard. The front towing hook is rated at 1,350 lb (612 kg).
A 5-inch LCD display provides the rider with essential vehicle information, while suspension travel measures 210 mm up front and 235 mm at the rear. CFMOTO says the setup was developed with comfort and control in mind when tackling more challenging terrain.
For machines expected to split their time between work and trail riding, that versatility remains one of their strongest arguments.
The C6 PRO Takes a Major Step Forward
The changes are even more significant with the CFORCE C6 PRO and C6 PRO TOURING.
CFMOTO introduces a new 647cc engine producing 54 hp, paired with a new chassis. The company also highlights a broad torque range from 3,500 to 7,500 rpm.
This combination will be particularly interesting to evaluate on the trail. Power is one thing, but in this category, engine flexibility, low-speed behaviour and overall chassis balance can have just as much influence on the riding experience.
That makes the complete new platform more interesting to us than the increase in displacement alone.
More Technology on Board
CFMOTO is also continuing to introduce technologies that are becoming increasingly common throughout the powersports industry.
The C6 PRO models feature a new 6.2-inch MMI 2.0 display with Apple CarPlay and MotoPlay compatibility. CFMOTO has also introduced an electronic shifting system, designed to provide quick and smooth operation.
The arrival of these features in the mid-size category shows just how much the modern ATV has evolved. Instrumentation is no longer simply there to display speed or fuel level; it is gradually becoming a more complete interface between the rider and the machine.
The real question will be how intuitive these features remain when wearing gloves and riding in the sometimes harsh conditions encountered on the trail.
More Range for Longer Rides
A more subtle change, but one that should be appreciated by long-distance riders, is the fuel tank, which now holds 24 litres (6.3 US gallons).
Actual range will obviously depend on fuel consumption and riding conditions, but additional capacity is always welcome when the kilometres start adding up far from the nearest gas station.
The new generation also gets a more assertive body design and a distinctive dot-matrix lighting signature, giving the C6 family a more modern identity.
The C6 PRO TOURING Is Designed for Two
The CFORCE C6 PRO TOURING takes the new platform and adapts it more specifically for two-up riding.
CFMOTO highlights increased comfort and ergonomics designed specifically for the passenger. This version is intended for riders who want to combine practical work capabilities with a machine better suited to longer recreational outings.
That could make it particularly relevant in the Canadian market, where two-up ATVs continue to hold an important place among trail riders.
Our First Impression
The 2027 lineup shows that CFMOTO continues to push its mid-size ATV offerings forward.
The new C4 and C5 should appeal to riders looking for a versatile, well-equipped machine without necessarily needing a large-displacement engine.
But it’s the C6 PRO, and especially its TOURING version, that has us most curious. CFMOTO is no longer focusing solely on providing a long list of standard equipment. The company is now making meaningful changes to the engine, chassis, ergonomics and onboard technology.
On paper, the updates are substantial enough to call this a genuine evolution of the CFORCE family.
The next step will be much more revealing: getting behind the handlebars of these new models to see how all these improvements translate to the trail.
