Polaris continues the rollout of its 2027 lineup with a new ATV designed to appeal to riders looking for a versatile, affordable machine. The American manufacturer has introduced the all-new Sportsman 500, expanding the Sportsman family with a starting MSRP of US$6,599.
The goal is straightforward: deliver the comfort and capability that have made the Sportsman name popular while keeping the ATV within reach of a wider range of buyers.
Built for Comfort
Although positioned as an entry-level model, the Sportsman 500 incorporates several features found on higher-end Sportsman models.
Among them is Independent Rear Suspension (IRS), which helps absorb bumps and uneven terrain while delivering a smoother, more comfortable ride. The suspension design also improves ground clearance and traction when the trail becomes more challenging.
The Sportsman 500 offers 9.5 inches (24.1 cm) of suspension travel and 11.5 inches (29.2 cm) of ground clearance, allowing it to tackle obstacles with confidence.
An Engine Designed for Versatility
Power comes from a 500cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with electronic fuel injection. According to Polaris, the engine has been tuned to provide a balanced mix of performance, smooth power delivery, and efficiency for both recreational trail riding and light-duty work.
The Sportsman 500 also features Polaris’ On-Demand AWD/2WD system, a hallmark of the brand. When the rear wheels begin to lose traction, all-wheel drive automatically engages to improve grip without requiring any rider input.
