Legendary Alterra and Prowler vehicles return with notable updates and are joined by new vehicles in both segments aimed at more price-conscious buyers and newcomers to off-roading.
New models for model year 2027 include:

Six Highly Capable Prowlers
The Arctic Cat Prowler side-by-side lineup expands to six vehicles for 2027, with two new, mid-sized Prowler 500 models joining popular, smooth-running Prowler 800 XT, Limited and Crew machines that return with updates.
The Prowler 500 models are built upon an unintimidating, mid-sized chassis that is powered by a sporty 443cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine. They have features similar to many big utility side-by-sides – including four-wheel drive, 25-inch tires, a rear dump box and impressive capabilities (including 1,000-pound total cargo capacity and another 1,500 pounds of towing capacity). Yet it all comes in a more compact and agile platform, with the driver and a passenger nicely situated in a comfortable cockpit.
The base Prowler 500 model rides on Maxxis tires mounted on steel wheels. Buyers who choose the upgraded Prowler 500 Limited receive Duro tires on aluminum wheels, the ease of electronic power steering, a factory-installed 3,000-pound winch, a cargo mat in the spacious dump box, and backup lights.
Four highly capable, comfortable and stylish full-sized Prowlers return for 2027, continuing to happily serve a wide variety of users. The Prowler 800s are loved for their durable chassis, impressive handling and the smooth, efficient & powerful Ultra-Quiet 812cc fuel-injected three-cylinder engine. The Prowler 800 XT, Limited, Crew and Crew Limited models make demanding jobs easier and every trail more enjoyable.
All four feature electronic power steering (EPS) and double A-arm front and rear suspensions that make them easy to drive. Plus, they provide ultra-impressive cargo and towing capacities and come with a 4,500-lb WARN Axon winch. Switching between 2WD, 4WD and 4WD with Diff Lock is as easy as turning a dash-mounted switch inside the well-appointed cab.
The Prowler 800 XT and Prowler 800 Limited feature single-row seating, with room for three. The Prowler XT offers an open cockpit with quarter doors and a roof. The Prowler Limited features a fully enclosed, well-sealed cab with factory installed heat and – new for 2027 – a fixed position glass windshield with an integrated windshield wiper and washer. The Limited also comes with the high-tech Arctic Cat G8 digital display with on-screen mapping, vehicle diagnostics and much more.
Six-passenger Prowler 800 Crew models – XT and Limited – follow the same formula except they utilized a stretched chassis to accommodate two specious rows of seating. The open cockpit XT Crew is a true do-anything side-by-side that also excels as a people mover. The Crew Limited adds a fully enclosed cab, factory-installed heat, and additional premium features. Every Prowler driver or passenger will appreciate the quiet-running engine, but it is especially noticeable inside an enclosed cab.
Alterra ATV Lineup Grows
The Arctic Cat lineup of durable, responsive and purpose-built Alterra ATVs grows to nine models for 2027, including five full-sized machines, three returning mid-size vehicles and a sporty new youth model.
The full-sized Alterra 600 models feature a proven chassis and reactive engine that were designed together to provide excellent balance, superior rider ergonomics and exceptional capabilities. The engine is positioned deep and low in the chassis and tilted rearward, with the exhaust routed out the rear of the vehicle. Aside from other benefits, its placement keeps engine heat away from the rider and allows for more leg and foot space.
All Alterra 600 models feature fully independent double A-arm suspensions that are arched for increased ground clearance to avoid rocks, roots or stumps. Twin tube, coil-over shocks expertly control 8.75 inches of travel, while Electronic Power Steering (EPS) reduces effort at the handlebar and filters unwanted trail feedback. Every Alterra 600 model comes with a strong 3,500-lb WARN Axon winch with a synthetic rope, rugged composite-over-steel racks and a 2-inch receiver hitch.
The Alterra 600 EPS rides on 25-inch Kenda KS90 tires mounted on steel wheels. The Alterra 600 Limited upgrades to 27-inch Kenda KTW tires on stylish 14-inch aluminum wheels and adds the Ultimate Front Bumper, LED accent lighting and premium painted bodywork.
Because the best adventures are meant to be shared, the two-rider vehicle Alterra 600 TRV models utilize a stretched chassis that adds stability plus creates more room for a second passenger, who sits upon a raised perch with elevated footpegs and multi-position handholds. Like their single-passenger siblings, the Alterra 600 TRV EPS uses 25-inch tires on steel wheels, and the Alterra 600 TRV Limited comes with 27-inch tires, aluminum wheels, LED accent lighting, the Ultimate Front Bumper and premium painted bodywork.
The Alterra 600 Mud Pro returns with its unique blend of features designed specifically for riders who love challenging their skills in deep mudholes. Highlights include a high-mounted radiator, a snorkel-style engine air intake plus air intake & exhaust for the CVT system mounted beside the headlight pod ahead of the elevated, hooked-end handlebar. If those features don’t make its purpose clear, the big lugs on the jumbo 28-inch Maxxis Zilla tires leave no doubt – the Alterra 600 Mud Pro was built to conquer deep muck while delivering maximum fun.
Also returning for 2027 are two mid-sized Alterra 450s and a compact Alterra 300.
The Alterra 450 models received an upgrade to its drive system in recent years, with handlebar-mounted electric control for selecting between 2WD, 4WD or 4WD with diff lock, just like their larger siblings. The 443cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine is surprisingly spry, and when placed in a lightweight, mid-sized chassis it gives the 450 models among the best power-to-weight ratios in the ATV world. That is important whether you’re loading the steel racks with materials, attaching an implement, pulling a trailer, or going for trail ride.
The Alterra 450 rides on 24-inch tires mounted on steel wheel, while the Alterra 450 Limited upgrades to 25-inch tires on aluminum wheels and adds a factory-installed winch and premium painted bodywork.
The two-wheel drive Alterra 300 is nimble, lightweight and surprisingly capable, with a more compact chassis that is less intimidating for smaller or newer riders.
New for 2027 is the Alterra 110 – a youth-sized, Y-10 certified sport quad that strikes an ideal balance between fun and safety. Young riders will enjoy its reactive 112cc air-cooled engine, sporty styling, youth-focused ergonomics and confident handling. Parents will appreciate its smooth operation enabled by EFI, impressive durability and built-in safety features – including a throttle limiter, tether cord and safety flag.
