The Sportsman 450 is Polaris’ entry-level quad on a budget, with enough power to go explore the great outdoors and have fun. In order to attract the attention of the consumer, Polaris gave it the same facelift as its brother, the Sportsman 570. This does it the greatest good, because the offer is rejuvenated and energized.
Indeed, like the Sportsman 570, the Sportsman 450 finally receives the angular body design style of the 850 and XP 1000. Although the bodies differ slightly, the Polaris design is consensual and everyone likes it. This Sportsman drives as well as any other, and many things were improved on this platform a few years ago. Despite its low price, this ATV offers all the same interesting features such as the sealed storage box under the front rack, electronic fuel injection, CVT transmission, four-wheel, independent suspension, and on-demand AWD.
It may not be the most powerful engine, but the 500cc, ProStar, 33 HP engine with EFI ensures easy start-up and predictable operation, and produces a surprising amount of torque at low speed.
The size of the seat has been reduced and the foot wells enlarged for greater driver comfort, which also means that it adapts very well to a lot of different drivers of different heights. This quad also sits a little lower, with only 22.8 cm (9 inches) of ground clearance.
Just like the Sportsman 570, the Sportsman 450 offers power steering at an additional cost. The Utility Edition is also available, but it’s much less sophisticated than the 570. The utility version of the 450 comes with an added steel rack and a tie-down bar at both the front and the back.
WHAT’S NEW?
Nothing for 2025.
We appreciate :
- Despite its low price, Polaris offers enough equipment and performance so that the buyer, when riding with his machine, does not think all the time that he has acquired an entry-level machine.
We dislike:
- Nothing wrong with the Sportsman 450.
