2025 Polaris RZR PRO R and RZR PRO S

2025 Polaris RZR PRO R

Polaris strikes a blow by pushing the concept of high-performance UTVs one step further with the RZR Pro R family in its never-ending quest to have the most capable machine on the market. Although you might think this is just a simple emulation of the RZR Pro XP, it incorporates the turbo-charged 181 HP engine in the PRO S version (called PRO Turbo R last year).

THE RZR PRO R and PRO S is a completely new machine that introduces a new monocoque type chassis that integrates the roll cage in the assembly to give a structural rigidity twice that of the RZR Pro XP. The new Maxlink suspension provides up to 29 inches of travel by attaching the shock absorber to the lower suspension arm. This allows for a longer shock to be installed, thus, more wheel travel. The vehicle is standard equipped with an electronic suspension called Dynamix DV system that constantly adjusts suspension compression and rebound through four pre-programmed modes to keep the wheels on the ground. Also, note that the RZR Pro R and S series introduces a 74-inch-wide track for the first time in the industry and a wheelbase of 104.5 inches for the two-passenger version and 133.6 inches for the four-seater.

As for the engine, Polaris uses in the PRO S the twin-cylinder 925 cc turbocharged engine. This 181 horsepower boxer engine is already very explosive and propels the vehicle to indecent speeds in the blink of an eye.

However, this boiling engine is already outperformed by the new two-liter Prostar Fury 2.0, without turbo, which provides a crazy 225 hp. This highly efficient engine is also suitable for driving in scorching desert conditions, as its operating temperature is lower. In addition, a belt-driven 1700 W alternator is ready to supply the increasingly numerous and energy-consuming electrical accessories.

From what we’ve seen so far, the interior finish is excellent, close to that of a sports car. The seats are comfortable and fitted with six-point belts. The two-tone instrument panel offers instrumentation consisting of a digital information panel equipped with two large analog displays. The raised center console will display all operating parameters of the Dynamix DV suspension. The steering wheel has received particular attention with its control buttons placed in the spokes.

The RZR PRO R and PRO S are available in two or four passenger versions, and are available with the same standard equipment levels from Polaris: Sport, Premium, Ultimate, and Ultimate Launch Edition.

WHAT’S NEW?

  • PRO Turbo R becomes PRO S
  • New colorful special editions: Factory Armored and Race Replica.

Pros:

  • The RZR PRO R line represents all of Polaris’s experience and know-how to deliver the best performing vehicle possible and stand up to its fiercest competitor, Can-Am. It’s a real success.
  • These trail missiles have a staggering level of performance that will not be easy to express in the context of an organized trail network.
  • The demonically efficient Dynamix DV suspension comes standard with the vehicle.

Cons:

  • Nothing. One can only admire the display of technology, but at some point, one wonders how far will it go?
