The Viking line of models is mostly work-oriented, as evidenced by its defined width to minimize mess in crop row spacing. The Viking can side-seat three adults comfortably so that they can enjoy the unobstructed view of nature’s scenes. The trick of shifting the backrest of the central seat backward gives considerable clearance for the shoulders.
All Viking models feature Yamaha’s 686cc engine with wideband power, electronic fuel injection, and liquid cooling for consistent engine output, while a four-valve head with 10.0:1 compression ensures optimal torque. It teams up with an Ultramatic CVT fully automatic transmission with engine braking, an On-Command electric selectable 4×4 system with a full differential lock and standard electric power steering. The Viking also features 11,8 in (30 cm) of ground clearance, large-diameter front and rear wheel disc brakes, and a large 9,7 US gal (36.7 L) fuel tank for those long days on the job.
The three-occupant Viking comes standard with EPS, or as an SE model with the addition of a sunroof, cast-aluminum wheels, sealed under-seat storage, fender flares, multi-mount brackets in the bed bottom, and special paint. Aboard the Viking VI, the comfort level is optimum and remains so in rough terrain. Just like in the Viking, the center seating positions are set back five degrees to prevent occupants from bumping into shoulders and elbows.
With class-leading cabin and comfort, superior handling, and proven off-road capability, Vikings are robust and easy-to-drive vehicles. The Viking’s comfortable three- or six-passenger cabin features two-stage automotive-style door locks, a walk-through bucket seat, padded passenger grab handles, and a driver’s left footpeg. A reinforced steel rear cargo box incorporates mounting points on the tie-down rails, and a rubber cargo mat helps reduce noise and vibration. Large enough for a full pallet, the dump body can hold up to 600 pounds of equipment and materials while maintaining flexibility and off-road capability. Unlike some competing models, the dump box remains fully usable when all six seats are occupied. The standard 2-inch receiver hitch is designed to pull 1500 pounds (680 kg) with or without a full load in the cargo box.
