Suzuki’s 500 cm3 KingQuad is, in fact, a smaller version of its big brother, the 750 cm3. It’s just as comfortable and easy to maintain, and it offers a good quality/price ratio. It benefitted, at the same time as the KingQuad 750, from mechanical and body improvements a few years ago.
The power of the single-cylinder, 493 cm3, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled engine, is nothing out of the ordinary, but it is enough for any type of job. Those with the most experience will immediately feel at ease on this quad. The few improvements that were mentioned above provide gentler acceleration, a quicker response from the gas lever and a stronger feeling at mid and high rpms. The automatic CVT, QuadMatic, which has an excellent reputation, requires little in the way of maintenance.
For those who have little driving experience with all-terrain vehicles, this one forgives small mistakes, more so than large-bore quads. Its injection system, which is based on Suzuki motorcycle technology, allows for immediate start-up whatever the weather and better fuel consumption. An aluminum radiator with a fan maintains an optimal temperature.
The double-wishbone front suspension, with its adjustable 5-position preload does the job, and the rear suspension is equipped with a stabilizer bar. The shocks have an adjustable 5-position preload. The brakes quickly stop the KingQuad, the front discs supply strong braking, while the sealed, rear hydraulic system delivers constant braking, with little maintenance required. The four-wheel drive system is the same as the one on its big brother, with a lockable front differential.
The Model 500 is available in five color options, namely khaki, red and, for the more fully equipped XPZ version, Armored Blue Grey, Cast Carbon and True Timber Kanati (camo),
The 500 is a good ATV. Powered by a reliable single-cylinder engine, its performance will be sufficient for 95% of the users. It’s a choice to consider if you want a good-quality, intermediate ATV at a competitive price.

We appreciate:
- The King Quad 500 is a vehicle that offers performance similar to the big 750 with a little less power under the thumb.
- Road holding on trails is of very good quality and its crossing capacities are very good.
- The reliability of the Suzuki makes them very popular machines.
We dislike:
- Standard tires have very soft sidewalls which make the vehicle bouncy. Replacing them greatly improves behavior.
