The RZR 570 having been removed from the lineup last year, it is the Prostar 900 which has verve that returns the task of propelling the line of Polaris Trail 50 inches. Many take trails that are too tight for a wider quad, when local regulations limit them to 50 inches. Therefore, even though they’re a few inches wider than an ATV, they can truly go anywhere.  

Front and rear stabilizer bars vastly improve this platform, keeping the quad level in tight corners. The trail model is narrower, therefore, the driver has to keep in mind the limited stability when cornering. Nonetheless, rolling is mastered quite well when under hard cornering. These RZRs are ideal machines for the compact and light ProStar 900 engines with an electronic fuel injection system that ensures problem-free start-up and operation. 

The ProStar 900 engine provides 75 horsepower that is well managed by the vehicle’s dynamics, even if it is cramped. The bodywork used is the same as the 60-inch RZR S models and received a cosmetic overhaul including decorative LED accents on either side of the grille. The interior has also been revised to incorporate the Ride and Command interface that Polaris incorporates into many of its models.

The RZR Trail is offered in two versions. The Sport version is quite bare. It has simple steel wheels and does not have the Turf mode differential.  But this year it gains power steering, solid doors and LED headlights

The RZR 900 Trail Ultimate Edition is equipped with the following features: VersaTrac unlockable differential, automotive-style paint, high-performance all-wheel drive and aluminum wheels, Walker Evans gas suspension, Fosgate Stage 2 audio system, Ride and Command navigation system and a roof.

We dislike:

  • With the retirement of the RZR 570 last year, the entry price at Polaris has risen above $20,000. Also, the $6,500 gap between the 2 versions is very large.
