The Prowler Pro is the latest addition to Arctic Cat’s family of utility UTVs. He is resolutely work-oriented. It can transport teams of three or six men and move large loads.
Power comes from the 812cc EFI three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine designed and built by Arctic Cat. It provides a modest 50 horsepower; however, the intention of the manufacturer was not to deliver raw power, but to offer the best possible operating silence. For this purpose, the motor called whisper quiet, has been designed with an air intake that dampens sound, motor mounts that reduce noise and vibration, and a calibrated muffler to eliminate noise as much as possible. The transmission is of the CVT type and has been revised this year to increase its performance. The driver-selectable AWD system is supported by a self-locking front differential and a rear that can be unlocked (Turf mode). The suspension is independent at all four wheels and has 10 inches of travel in the front and 9.5 inches in the rear. This was recalibrated in 2022 and the improvement in comfort is appreciable. Ground clearance has been increased to up to 13 inches. This vehicle can carry up to 1,000 pounds in its tilt bed and towing up to 2,000 pounds.
The spacious cabin offered in three or six-passenger configuration thanks to full-width bench seats also brings a design that unfolds with lots of storage tricks. For example, a sealed space is provided behind the backrest of the bench seat, closed spaces are provided under the bench seats. Finally, the manufacturer’s accessories catalog will allow you to customize the vehicle according to your needs.
In the regular or Crew version, the Prowler Pro is available with these three levels of equipment: the EPS, the XT and the LTD. The XT comes with a hardtop, 4500 lb winch and heavy-duty front bumper. The LTD adds hard doors and a roof console. The Prowler Pro Crew also has a stripped-down version without the winch and hardtop.
However, Arctic Cat is offering two other editions for the 3-seater version for a limited time: the Prowler Pro S and the Prowler Pro Ranch Edition. The S is a stripped-down version of the EPS, while the Prowler Pro Ranch Edition adds a ranch bumper, a 4500-lb Warn winch and a rear bumper.
WHAT’S UP ?
- Two new editions for the Prowler Pro.
We appreciate:
- Silent operation of the vehicle thanks to the Quiet Whisper process put forward during its development.
- The ride comfort provided by the recalibration of the suspensions
- Spacious and ingenious cabin with well-used storage spaces.
We dislike:
- The net weight of the heavy six-seater versions.
- The flat and slippery seats that do not help to stay in place as well as the absence of the head restraint for the passenger in the center.
