Just as the ATV Trail Rider team was preparing for the first test ride of the new Arctic Cat Wildcat 4 in California, the second week of January, which turned out to be a memorable experience. We received a teaser photo from our friends at Cat. This new, more powerful 2013 Arctic Cat Wildcat X 1000, is set for launch March 2013.
New to the sport side-by-side segment, Arctic Cat is obviously working hard on taking full advantage on this impressive-looking new platform. The purposely leaked out teaser image, with the vehicle totally hidden by its own production of a dust storm, says a lot about how much power this Wildcat ‘’X’’ will provide. It’s a performance improved version of the two-seat Wildcat 1000, with enough power off the line to give the RZRs now dominating most racing circuits, a run for their money. Will the Wildcat family continue to grow? Could a single seat or more compact trail friendly version be also a possibility? Hard to tell, but for now, we are still a bit shaken-up by the fact that such a cool-looking ride, with 18’’ of travel and 90 HP, even exists. These photos were taken during the Wildcat 4 launch, where we were lucky enough to have a unit available for a few hours of awesomely fun desert driving. The sport Side x Side class is growing fast in popularity, with good reason. All these awesome-looking machines coming out are incredibly fun for passengers and satisfying for drivers. Their heightened performance, an important newly found safety feature. The fun-inducing experiences they provide, are like nothing you’ve ever thought possible.
We were lucky enough to get that quite revealing try of this new exciting addition to the Wildcat line and its newly-found drivetrain efficiency was impressive enough to make us drool at the thought of getting a unit for more testing up here in Canada. Be sure to stay tuned in, we will provide all the information we can about all of these awesome looking Arctic Cat Wildcat 1000, Full-Sport, Side x Side vehicles.
