Thanks to the new 686cc DOHC engine with optimized torque and power delivery, the new Yamaha Grizzly 700 offers a better off-road experience, still backed by its reputation of foolproof reliability. It is an important player among large displacement ATVs.
The 686 cc engine is a torquey single cylinder perfectly suited to the conditions of use you will encounter on the trail, whether traveling quickly or passing through delicate technical sectors. A new cylinder head houses a new forged piston with increased compression. It is powered by electronic fuel injection and is still receiving attention from its manufacturer to improve its smoothness of operation, its throttle response, and better control of noise and vibrations. It delivers linear power throughout the rev range. The engine is paired with the unbeatable Ultramatic transmission that has proven itself for two decades. The driver can also count on the On-Command four-wheel-drive system that engages on the fly and the electronically locking front differential. In short, the quad rider has the mechanical combo of one of the best efficiency / reliability ratios in the industry.
Compared to the more modest Kodiak, the Grizzly digital dashboard is more extensive. In addition to a wider and better-padded seat, the suspension has been revised to ensure greater comfort. All Grizzlys feature power steering. A new LED work light has appeared in the Grizzly and Kodiac lineup, along with LED headlights that add a modern touch to the vehicle. Finally, larger 26-inch tires shod the big Grizzly. Notably, the driver will be able to count on three watertight storage compartments: one in the front tank, one under the rear light, and another in the rear bumper.
The Grizzly offers the more equipped SE version, featuring 14-inch aluminum mag wheels with 27-inch tires and a factory-installed winch.
The Grizzly has always been a safe bet, but Yamaha has picked up the slack to keep its big bear level in the ATV hierarchy.
