The Pioneer 700 comes in a 2-seat and a 4-seat version with individually foldable rear seats, which allows for an interesting number of configurations to adjust the number of passengers or cargo. It’s a highly practical and agile UTV, now offered in Deluxe version only.
Owners can now choose to use the Pioneer configured to hold 2, 3 or 4 passengers. The side-by-side version can tow 680 kg (1,500 lbs.) and a dump bed with a capacity of 454 kg (1,000 lbs.). The 31 L (6.8 gal.) tank (with a 4.5 L or 0.98-gallon reserve) allows for a wide range of activities. This quad is really hard to beat when put to work, such as on a major worksite. The quality and ruggedness are truly tangible from every perspective. Honda offers the Pioneer in two models, the standard and the LE, as well as three pre-installed equipment packages depending on whether you want to use your vehicle for work, trail riding, or outdoor activities.
The back seats on the 4-seat 700-4 are installed directly in the bed, which helps to maintain the same wheelbase on all the versions. This allows the vehicle to be as compact as most of the 2-seater models on the market. The two back seats can be folded and stowed under the floor of the bed.
The UTV is powered by a 675cc, single-cylinder, electronic fuel injection engine paired with an automotive-style automatic transmission. The transmission can operate in automatic mode, which adjusts the gear shifting according to your driving style. In addition, you can switch speeds using the paddles located behind the steering wheel. The 4×4 system is activated on demand by the driver using a lever on the dashboard. The driver can also lock the front differential using a second lever. Lastly, power steering is now standard.
What’s new?
Nothing for 2025
We appreciate:
- The versatility of the body which allows the owner to choose between cargo space or passengers.
- The compact size that still allows four people to be transported.
- Honda’s proverbial quality of finish and reliability.
We dislike:
- The rear seats which are not comfortable for tall people (180 cm, or 6 feet, or more).
