The Brute Force 300 is a small machine with a big place on the market. Kawasaki offers it as an entry-level ATV and anyone would be very happy to use this little ATV for work around the farm, or scout down the trail.
This is a medium-sized quad that is surprisingly well designed and equipped with the features of quads, great and small. It produces a lot of stability when cornering. The wide handlebars and the spacious ergonomics make the rider position natural, even for tall people. Make no mistake about the low displacement number; the Brute Force 300 is capable of causing a lot of trouble for a good driver at the controls. It’s super light, which quickly makes you feel like you’re in control of the quad and that you can get it to do almost anything you want. The Maxxis tires, surprisingly large for this “Brute,” impressed us in the snow.
The mechanics of the 271cc engine are uncomplicated. Two SOHC valves, a carburetor that supplies the fuel, and liquid cooling. It produces 21 HP of power at 7,500 rpm, and a substantial torque of 16 pound-feet at 6,500 rpm. The settings that synchronize the ignition and the carburetor were set to optimize performance at low and high rpm, in other words, there where it counts to get a smooth and linear power output.
The instrumentation is also just as well laid out, and the seat just as large and comfortable as the one on a big Brute Force, and you also get the same highly practical storage compartments. There’s one in the front, rounded right fender to hold your water bottle and another one below the front luggage rack. Despite its tiny heart, the body is just as big as its big brother and has most of its traits.
What’s new
Nothing for 2025.
We appreciate :
- Although it is an economical entry-level quad, it offers generous space layout and a very well-balanced driving position.
- Trail handling is very good.
- Several storage spaces will be appreciated by its owner.
We dislike:
- The absence of four-wheel drive will limit its use in difficult terrain and in winter, despite the presence of a range of hi/lo ratios of the transmission.
