New models were introduced to the Argo lineup two years ago, and we know they come from Kymko’s portfolio. The Argo XR 500 is an affordable entry-level ATV compared to the beefy and better-equipped XR 700.
The XR 500 offers automatic CVT transmission, on-demand four-wheel drive, and four-wheel independent suspension. Modernly made, the 443cc, SOHC, four-stroke, four-valve injection engine is fiery enough for some fun, but if you’re looking for a thrill, this little 33 hp single-cylinder might leave you on your appetite.
The XR 500 is compact, and it climbs well on very rough trails filled with large rocks. Its ride is smooth and well-controlled. The differential lock and on-demand 2 / 4WD selector easily engages with a button near the handle and is well designed to prevent accidental activation. However, be aware that this is a low-cost mid-size ATV, not necessarily as polished as other machines.
The XR 500 is offered in two trim levels: Base and SE. The SE version adds to the base version: alloy wheels with Kenda tires, storage under the seat, 3000 lb winch, and painted body panels.
