Designed to handle the tough utility-use conditions, this new 2WD offering aims to satisfy Yamaha clients with a need for a logically priced All-Terrain Vehicle with the excellent reliability and serviceability that Yamaha’s Grizzly line of models is known for. This smaller Grizzly can also make for a great recreational vehicle that the whole family will be able to enjoy for many years to come. Good power and light handling, and all at an affordable price.

Yamaha says the 287cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, single-cylinder engine with a vibration-reducing single-axis balancer in this machine is very smooth and that it has a torque curve not far off a Kodiak 350. A 32mm carburetor is used for smooth power delivery. The engine also features an automatic cam chain tensioner and an aluminum piston.

This is a fully automatic ride with an easy to use 4-position gear lever (H, L, N, R) controlling its CVT transmission with centrifugal clutch. Enabling its user to carry a good amount of cargo are the flat front rack with a 20kg load capacity and the rear rack that can handle 45 kg, the new 2012 Yamaha Grizzly 300 has a 10.7 liter plastic resin fuel tank that translates into exceptional range, qualities that can make it an ideal ride for a fisherman on the hunt for new lakeshores to enjoy, at a reasonable price. A good sized adult will ride in comfort, as the footboards have the same surface area as the Kodiak 350. It goes without saying that this quad will also be a great option for beginning trail riders. Despite its low price, this new Grizzly has a lot of other good features worthy of its name, like an electric starter for convenience, two 35W halogen headlights for excellent illumination and a shaft drive for outstanding serviceability and reliability.

At an MSRP of $4,999 this new model becomes the most affordable in Yamaha’s entire lineup of Multi-purpose quads, surprisingly only $300 more than the Grizzly 125 youth quad.
